Cytokine and chemokine biomarkers

Cytokines and chemokines are small signaling proteins that play crucial roles in the immune system by mediating communication between cells. Cytokines, such as interleukins, interferons, and tumor necrosis factors (TNFs), regulate immune responses, inflammation, and cell proliferation. Chemokines, a subset of cytokines, are primarily involved in directing the movement of immune cells to sites of infection or injury.

RBM offers a number of cytokines and chemokines useful in assessing potential therapeutics.  For instance, cytokines can be used as therapeutic agents to boost the immune response in cancer immunotherapy or to suppress inflammation in autoimmune diseases. Additionally, blocking specific cytokines or chemokines can help treat conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and inflammatory bowel disease.
