Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin Simoa
Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin (TSLP) is a cytokine that induces the release of T-cell-attracting chemokines from monocytes and, in particular, enhances the maturation of CD11c+ dendritic cells. It can induce allergic inflammation by directly activating mast cells. It interacts with a receptor composed of CRLF2 and IL7R, and is expressed in a number of tissues including heart, liver, and prostate. TSLP is released by primary epithelial cells in response to certain microbial products, physical injury, or inflammatory cytokines. TSLP has also been shown to activate maturation of specific subset of dendritic cells (Langerhans cell) located within the epidermis. Within the thymus, TSLP activation of both myeloid and plasmacytoid (CD123+) dendritic cells results in the production of regulatory T cells.
