Fatty Acid-Binding Protein, liver

Fatty Acid-Binding Protein, liver (L-FABP), also known as FABP-1, is abundant in the liver cytoplasm, but is also expressed in several other sites including the intestine, pancreas, kidney, lung and stomach. Unlike the other members of the FABP family, L-FABP is able to bind two ligands simultaneously helping fulfill its role in fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism.
