Epithelial-Derived Neutrophil-Activating Protein 78
Epithelial-Derived Neutrophil-Activating Protein 78 (ENA-78, CXCL5) is a potent chemoattractant and activator of neutrophil functions. It is produced by many non-hematopoietic cell types. ENA-78 expression is elevated in the inflamed tissues of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, Crohns disease, ulcerative colitis, acute appendicitis, and allergic airway inflammation. ENA-78 is also a potent angiogenic factor in small lung cancer.
