Activin beta-A chain

Activin-A is a homodimer of two inhibin beta-A subunits and a member of the TGF-? superfamily. It is a regulator of various biological processes such as growth and metastasis of cancer cells, inflammation, immunity and erythropoiesis. Activin-A also promotes secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from anterior pituitary cells, which plays a role in hormonal homeostasis and reproductive function.
